He graduated with a degree in computer science at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing (FER) on July 13th 2006. He received his Ph.D. at FER on April 20th, 2012, with the topic: "Data mining of biomedical time series based on computer framework for feature extraction." During his doctoral studies, he attended two seminars abroad: in Leuvenu, Belgium, 2007, and in Marktoberdorf, Germany, 2008. He worked as expert assistant at the Institute Rudjer Boskovic, Zagreb (09/16 - 03/17), as assistant at FER, department ZEMRIS (04/07 - 04/12), as senior assistant at FER, ZEMRIS (05/12 - 5/16), as assistant professor (06/16 - 03/2020), and as associate professor (04/2020 till today).

He received awards and acknowledgments: TopPicks 2021 acknowledgment by IEEE Hardware Security and Trust Technical Committee for a scientific paper, "Vera Johanides" award for young scientist, awarded by Croatian Academy of Engineering for year 2016, "Josip Lončar" silver plaque for particularly successful doctoral dissertation and scientific work in ac. year 2011/2012, awarded by FER; and award for 2nd place in the young investigator category at MEDICON 2010 conference, awarded by IFMBE.

He participated in an international project (European FP6 project "HEARTFAID", Institute Rudjer Boskovic) and in a Croatian Ministry of Science project ("Computer environments for ubiquituous distributed systems", FER). He was the principal investigator of Croatian Foundation for Science early career project "A software system for parallel analysis of multiple heterogeneous time series with application in biomedicine", MULTISAB. (2015.-2018.). He was principle investigator on two national industrial projects and collaborator on three national industry projects, two of which are in progress (IRI-I and IRI-II financing).

He received Croatian scientific title of scienfic advisor in the area of technical sciences, the field of computer science on Feb. 4, 2022. According to currently valid Croatian scientific categorization, he is the author of 26 papers in A-grade journals (CC, SCI, SCI-E, ESCI), 3 scientific book chapters, 2 papers in other journals and 44 papers in proceedings of international conferences, out of which he personally presented 13 papers. He currently has: 970 citations in WoS Core Collection (h-index 14), 1503 citations in Scopus (h-index 16), and 2524 citations in Google Scholar (h-index 19) databases. He reviewed more than 150 papers for international journals and conferences.

He is Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal "CIT. Journal of Computing and Information Technology" from 01/2023. He was a supervisor of graduate and undergraduate students.

He is a co-inventor of 1 Croatian patent: "Kontrola kvalitete automatizirane obročne proizvodnje upotrebom proširene teselacijske entropije procesnih signala." (in English: "Quality control in automatic batch production using expanded tessellation entropy of process signals"). He participated in several industrial projects in the field of data mining.

His professional areas of interest include: knowledge discovery in datasets (data mining), application of computing in medicine and knowledge representation in computer systems.

He speaks Croatian (maternal), English (~C1), German (~B1) and French (~B1).
